Minecraft Vita Free for PS3 Owners

Do you own Minecraft on the PlayStation 3 and really don’t want to pay full price to get the PlayStation Vita version of the blocky indie hit? Then you are in luck, as Mojang has announced that owners of the PS3 version of Minecraft will receive the Vita version completely free as part of a Cross-Buy promotion.
When Minecraft releases for the Vita in August, it will be released as a special $20 Minecraft: PS3 + Vita Edition. This means anyone that buys one version automatically gets the other version for free, including those who had previously purchased the PS3 edition. Players will be able to swap saves between the PS3 and Vita versions. In addition, all Minecraft DLC purchased for the PS3 edition will immediately be available for the Vita edition.
Perhaps you’d rather have the PlayStation 4 version of Minecraft but don’t want to pay full price for it either. When the PS4 edition of the game launches (also in August), those who previously owned the PS3 edition will be able to upgrade to the current gen edition for only $5. PS3 owners, like with the Vita, will be able to move saves to the PS4 edition. However, due to technical issues, saves from the PS4 version of Minecraft cannot be moved to the PS3 version.
